Urs Bieri is Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Holcim Foundation.

He studied economics at the University of St Gallen (lic. oec. HSG.) in Switzerland and is a graduate in business management from INSEAD in France.

Urs Bieri began is professional career at Holcim in 1971, and moved to Wild Heerbrugg from 1974 until 1978.

In 1978 he returned to Holcim in various roles responsible for management in Asia Pacific, and South and East Africa.

He was a member of the Holcim Executive Committee from 1986, and was also Deputy CEO of Holcim Ltd from 2002 until his retirement at the end of 2004.
